Post-Production
Film Opening Project
Post-Production Overview:
During post-production, I, the producer, supervised the editing process to ensure the sequence of shots effectively told the story. All of the footage was reviewed, and the strongest takes were chosen in order to keep continuity and a clear narrative.
Maintaining continuity editing was important so that the transitions between shots felt natural and did not confuse the audience.
One of my key responsibilities was ensuring the editing choices supported the conventions of the genre. Things such as building suspense through pacing and allowing the audience to put stuff together.
Music Video Project
Post-Production Overview:
As the editor, I organized the clips to create a narrative that reflects nostalgia and shows flashbacks in time. Instead of telling a strict linear story, I used editing to create a memory like structure, where moments feel yearnful and emotional.
This editing style shows the conventions of indie and alternative music videos, which often focus more on mood and emotion than a traditional storyline.
By carefully selecting footage and placing them in a specific sequence, I aimed to visually represent the feeling of looking back on childhood memories while recognizing how things change as people grow older.
Commercial Project
Post-Production Overview:
As the editor of the commercial, the post-production process allowed me to shape the clips into a commercial that depicts an emotional story and markets my product. Through editing, pacing, and non-diegetic sound, I helped show the comfort and high quality of the Beats headphones.
Most of the transitions in the commercial use straight cuts, which help keep the story clear and easy to follow. This helps maintain continuity and ensures the audience stays focused on the message.
The final commercial highlights the theme of music as a powerful emotional outlet, while also promoting the product in a way that feels relatable and meaningful to the audience
